COSMOS STUDY
An international cohort study of mobile phone use and health in five European countries
An international cohort study of mobile phone use and health (COSMOS) was initiated in 2008 to evaluate the possible association between long-term mobile phone use and adverse health effects (headaches and sleep disorders, the risks of cancers, benign tumours, neurological and cerebro-vascular diseases). Five European countries (UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Netherlands) are participating in the study. Participants are 18 years and older. It is expected that more than 250 000 mobile phone users will be followed for 20 to 30 years.
