In this study 2-month old rats were given an injection of benzo(a)pyrene, which induces malignant tumours. They were then exposed, at 20, 40 0r 75 days after the carcinogen injection, to RF fields. The radiation was GSM amplitude-modulated at 900 MHz and was given for 2 hours daily for 2 weeks. The whole-body SAR was 0.075-0.27 W/kg.

Microwave exposure had no effect on tumour development. No acceleration or delays in tumour onset were seen. Animal survival was not affected, nor were serum auto-antibody levels affected.
