Outer hair cells (OHC) enhance sensitivity and frequency selectivity by amplifying low-level sound signals mechanically. Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) reflect OHC function. DPOAEs measurements were performed during exposure and compared with sham exposure in 28 human subjects. A GSM-like signal was used at a SAR of 0.1 W/kg. No significant change in the DPOAE level in response to the EMF exposure was found. |
